The founder of the nonprofit organization Love Furry Friends, Olena Pyanov, was on her way to feed a bunch of stray dogs when she spotted a small puppy lurking in the bushes. She has never seen the puppy before, and she has only ever cared for adult dogs. It was either a stray that was from somewhere else or it was abandoned in the area.
The rescuer was aware that the puppy would not survive in the industrial area it was in, so she chose to help the dog. But it wasn’t until she came closer that she saw it was in desperate need of assistance. The unfortunate dog suffered from a skin ailment and was obviously in discomfort.
Olena chose to feed the puppy before taking any action. She offered it some food, but moved its head away. Moments later, it ate directly from her hand, and when it found the meal was delicious, it ate more.
The puppy needed to see the veterinarian immediately, so Olena decided to take it to the clinic first. She held it carefully and brought it to her car. On the way, she reassured the little dog and pledged to do all it takes to make its life better.
The veterinarians at the facility believed that the dog was between 4 and 5 months old. In addition, it was diagnosed with Canine demodicosis, a disorder in which mites infest the hair follicles and cause significant discomfort and rashes. The only treatment the puppy required, despite the severity of its illness, was a few rounds of antibiotics and a lot of rest.
The dog, now named Zhora, recovered quickly. For the first time ever, he grinned. He was very glad since he was no longer in pain, and he was so appreciative of his rescuer’s efforts.
Zhora, however, had no idea that something even better awaited him. While he was recuperating, Olena fulfilled her promise. She published his story on social media, and many people, including his new mother, fell in love with him.
Zhora left the clinic after receiving a clean bill of health and his own pet passport and headed to his new forever home. He embarked on a fresh adventure, but this time he was not alone.
