A woman named Sarah Walton has three dogs and she named them Burreaux, Joe, and O after the quarterback and head coach of the Louisiana State University football team. She named her three dogs as such because she was such a passionate football lover. Walton is also a volunteer at Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana (HSNL), a no-kill shelter based in Louisiana.
Walton got the three 8-week-old puppies from animal control and took them to the Humane Society to ensure that they were safe. Without her intervention, the puppies might have been euthanized.
Burreaux stood out among its litter. Walton observed that whenever someone spoke to Burreaux in a high-pitched voice, he flashed a gorgeous smile, revealing his human-like teeth. This made him stand out and charm a lot of people.
Walton elaborated that once you speak to Burreaux in a pleasant manner, he shows a desire to be petted and loved. He does this by merely smiling and showing off a grin. However, it was Joe that was first to be adopted.
The puppies are naturally skilled that they were already learning to retrieve even at a very young age. This is one of the main and major reasons why Joe and O were adopted quite quickly.
The volunteers at the shelter devised a unique plan to help Burreaux find an adoptive family. They used social media to do so. They uploaded a video of Burreaux’s silly grin and smile to the HSNL Facebook page and it gained immediate attention and became viral.
Burreaux would show off his teeth like a little child would. It is his method of expressing his happiness and gratitude. The Humane Society also listed Burreaux as “Adoption Pending.” Certainly, this quick video would help Burreaux find a permanent home and family as soon as possible. It won’t be really long before he is adopted and we are all excited for him!
