2020 was a challenging year, but the Marinos had other concerns on top of the pandemic. Byron, their beloved Poodle mix, went missing at the start of 2020. They searched for him for over a year with no success. After rechecking his microchip details, they received some devastating news.
A new family had adopted Byron, and his microchip information had been modified and disconnected from the Marinos. It was a painful realization, but the family is determined to fix the problem. Because Byron is a member of their family, they want him back more than anything.
Since 2017, Byron has been a part of the Marino family. As a result, everyone, especially the daughters, became quite close to him. They had him microchipped to keep him secure.
When Byron went missing earlier last year, the family double-checked the microchip information. They also labeled him as lost in every location they could think of, but he was never found. Savannah Marino had been feeling uneasy for almost 14 months before she realized something was amiss. She verified the microchip information and discovered that it had been registered under the name of someone else.
Savannah initially assumed it was a mistake. When she contacted the microchip manufacturer, they informed her that they could not become involved in such an ownership issue. They eventually told her that the modification was the work of the Poodle Rescue of Houston.
Byron was adopted by a new family in February 2020, according to the Poodle Rescue of Houston. According to the rescue, they attempted to call the Marino family, but the number on the microchip was unreachable.
This issue appears to be riddled with confusion and miscommunication. Of fact, the Marino family is mainly concerned with regaining custody of Byron. According to them, the rescue even offered them a new puppy, but no dog could ever replace Byron. It appears that Byron’s new family shares his sentiments.
Savannah stated that they are not angry with the new family. Byron has been with that family for over a year; therefore, he is unquestionably a family member. Savannah, on the other hand, hopes they do the right thing and return the puppy.
The Marinos filed a lawsuit against the Poodle Rescue of Houston, the microchip manufacturer, and Byron’s new family amid the chaos. They didn’t want it to come to this, but they’ll go to any length to bring their beloved companion home.
