Golden Rules For A Great Human-Dog Friendship

Golden Rules For A Great Human-Dog Friendship

Ashilta Kumar June 23, 2021

Dogs are neither toys nor cuddly toys. If you take this into account, you have already laid the foundation for a harmonious human-dog friendship. With loving but consistent dog training, you can also show your four-legged friend that you are a reliable partner. This is how your dog learns that he can trust you.

It is helpful for a wonderful human-dog friendship if you put yourself in the shoes of your four-legged friend from time to time. In this way, you can better understand how your behavior affects him.

Understand Dogs Correctly

A dog perceives its environment very differently than a human. While humans rely primarily on their sense of sight, dogs have a more subtle understanding of smell, hearing, and touch. In addition, a dog communicates differently than a human – it focuses primarily on body language. It is therefore essential for dog training that you do not confuse your dog with unclear signals.

Choose a number of clear basic commands that you teach your dog from an early age and be patient. The human-dog friendship could crack if your four-legged friend does not understand what you want from him, and you may also punish or yell at him for this lack of understanding.

Trust Between Humans And Dogs

If you can keep calm, the dog will trust you. The dog knows that he can rely on you at all times and that he will find security and security with you. The friendship between humans and dogs hardly differs from the friendship between two humans. So always stay clear, unambiguous, and consistent – but fair. The four-legged friend usually automatically listens to you when they trust you. After all, he doesn’t doubt that you know what’s good for him.

Friendship Needs Respect

Just as important as understanding and trust is respected in a human-dog friendship. These three things overlap; Respect requires understanding and creates trust. Never surprise your dog with your affection or make your dog  cuddle or play when the pet doesn’t want to. The dog’s behavior tells you whether he is in a cuddle and play mood – or not. If he’s taking a nap or doing something, leave him alone. He’ll come back to you if he wants to.

For humans, it is not always understand what arouses the interest of dogs. Perhaps he has just discovered an exciting smell that he would like to research. Let your dog be a dog too. It is essential to teach them this rule if you have children. Because the little ones still have to learn that the friendly cuddle is a living being and neither a toy nor a cuddly toy. However, if you explain this to your children in a loving and transparent manner, the little ones will learn a life lesson in matters of empathy, compassion, and friendship.

Joint Ventures

Last but not least, the fun between humans and dogs shouldn’t be ignored. Joint activities and experiences strengthen friendship. Make long, exciting walks and choose a different route now and then. Your four-legged friend will also get to know fellow dogs and play with their master or mistress in the dog playground to strengthen the relationship.

I am a publisher, wife and a mother of two boys and have a dog named Ace. Ace is a miniature golden retriever. Before we adopted Ace, my doctor told me that I was allergic to many things, one of them being dogs. My husband and kids always wanted a pet dog but because of my allergy we couldn’t have one. One day my husband showed me a picture of the cutest pup ever. I couldn’t resist the cuteness and was ready to work around my allergy and adopted the puppy. At first I used to keep my distance while my husband and kids played with Ace. Slowly I started to get closer and before I knew it, I was spending hours playing with Ace. I know that our bodies can repair itself but this one was because of my love for the fury friends. My motivation to start a blog and share stories, tips, and tricks came from what I went through. Please keep on visiting my blog to maintain the awesome status.
