We already know by now the newest member of the Biden family and the White House, the German Shepherd pup named Commander. The pup was introduced through the President’s official Twitter account and everyone’s already in love with him. He was gifted by the President’s brother James and his wife Sara to the President and the First Lady.
Commander is the third German Shepherd of the Biden family. The first was Champ, the couple’s reliable company for 13 years who just recently passed away, and the second is the three-year-old Major whom they rescued. Though sadly, after some issues with Major attacking White House personnel, he had to live with family friends in Delaware.
And just quite recently, a few days after Christmas, Commander got his first pup-arazzi photos. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden took the pup for a frolicking day at the beach near their second home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The couple has been spending their holidays in between their two homes and decided to have some downtime to bond and relax with their new pup.
Commander was immediately a hit with the White Press Corps who couldn’t stop from snapping photos of him playing at the beach. And he seemed to be really good with all the flashing lights and attention. In the many photos taken that day, Commander was seen enjoying a nice walk with his fur dad President Joe Biden. And of course, they also played fetch which Commander obviously loved.
Later on, his fur mom, First Lady Jill Biden also came in and joined them in the fun. The couple was definitely having a fun time with their only son.
Aside from their beach day, the media also got to take close-up photos of Commander while the President took some time to speak with the press. And he definitely looked so relaxed and chill with it. Hopefully, we’ll get more dashing photos of this pup with the rest of the family.
