Sometimes it’s challenging to find people willing to care for older dogs. After all, they are not as appealing or cute as puppies. Fortunately, there are still a few kind souls out there eager to give temporary homes to older dogs.
Rosy is a stray dog that used to live in an abandoned house with her two puppies. She was hesitant to trust anyone, including those who tried to rescue her. Fortunately, she decided to take a leap of faith and allow two rescuers to save her and her puppies.
After getting rescued, Rosy’s puppies were sent to foster homes while she remained at an animal shelter. No one showed interest in adopting her because she was a sick dog that had mange and other illnesses. It was already hard for an adult dog to find foster parents, so her current situation didn’t help.
A woman named Cerissa became interested in Rosy because of a certain post on social media. Cerissa went to the animal shelter where Rosy was and volunteered to be the dog’s foster parent. She was excited to take Rosy home and didn’t care about the dog’s background or age.
Cerissa hoped that Rosy would become friends with her other dog named Frenchie. That soon became a reality because the two dogs were inseparable after meeting. Frenchie also helped Rosy adjust and feel really comfortable in her new home.
Rosy underwent a drastic physical transformation. The dog ate healthy meals more frequently, which helped keep her at a proper weight. Rosy also spent a lot of time playing outside with her new friend, so she got lots of exercise.
Cerissa couldn’t let go of Rosy after experiencing living with her. Instead of finding a new owner, Cerissa opted to adopt the dog for good. Rosy was the perfect pet for her, and no other outcome would have been better.
