If you’ve ever owned a doggo, you would know that they hate water. In fact, dogs are so “allergic” to water that they dread the idea of taking a bath. So much so that there are a lot of videos on the internet where man’s best friends do everything they can to avoid bath time — by playing dead, hiding in plain sight, not looking at their owner, or just flat out talking back.
But while many dogs hate water, some enjoy it. These water-loving pups know how to have a good time with water, and they love to swim! Happy, a German Shepherd featured in the video below, is clearly a water-loving canine himself. Don’t believe us? Well, take a look at the short clip for yourself.
Happy and CJ are best friends despite their obvious size difference. Happy is significantly larger than his tiny friend. But their differences don’t end there.
You see, unlike Happy, CJ is not so thrilled about getting his paws wet. CJ, after all, is a city-dwelling pup. He’s lived all his life away from water, even pools.
On the other hand, Happy is a Montana native, and we all know that Montana is well-known for its big open spaces, parks, and of course, its beautiful lakes and rivers. Having been around water all his life, Happy sure enjoys swimming. So what does all of these have to do with the video?
In the video below, CJ can be seen sitting on top of a floater. His dad wanted him to enjoy the river, but the city pup isn’t a bit interested. And so, while sitting on the floater, his dad takes him farther out into the river, where the floater starts to drift away due to the water current.
CJ might not be an outdoor dog like Happy, but Happy loves him all the same. So when the water-loving pup saw that the current is slowly pushing his best friend away, he jumps into action. Happy jumps into the water and swims towards CJ.
Happy then grabs the string attached to the floater and pulls it back to shore, with CJ and all. What a good boy! Turns out he loves his pal CJ just as much as he loves water!
