Earlier this year, a hockey team stated that they wanted to adopt a dog for their squad, but they needed to be sure they found the right one. That dream eventually came true, thanks to a lovely black puppy named Bender.
Search for the one
When the Milwaukee Admirals wanted to adopt a canine teammate, they did some research to find the best one. After some time, four of the players paid a visit to Waukesha, Wisconsin’s Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS).
During their trip, the players met a litter of cute puppies who had recently arrived at the shelter. The mother of the puppies arrived at the rescue pregnant, and she was given a secure place to give birth. Ever since all of her puppies have grown up to be healthy and happy.
The hockey crew spent time with each puppy individually. These pups were just a few weeks old but were all extremely cute. However, once the players met Bender, their hearts melted and they knew he was the perfect puppy.
When the team originally announced their new member, they requested their followers to help them think of a proper name. They went over all of the options and concluded that Bender was the right name for the new rescue pooch.
Adopt not shop
The Admirals and HAWS both believed that this uplifting event benefited more than simply Bender and his squad. They really wanted to emphasize to the rest of the globe how vital it is to adopt dogs. They rescued a dog’s life by fostering Bender rather than purchasing a puppy from an unverified breeder.
Although Bender had found a forever home, his brothers and mother remained at the shelter along with several other animals. The Milwaukee Admirals stars want to encourage everyone to adopt rather than shop so that the others may get a chance at a new life like Bender.
