Tux was a homeless dog that struggled for a long time in the streets of L.A. Like most strays, he barely had anything to eat and relied merely on food scraps he found in the trash. And as if his hardships weren’t enough, he even got hit by a speeding car.
Desperate to find help, the poor dog gathered the remaining strength he had and did his best to get himself to the sidewalk. Fortunately enough, kids who watched rescue videos of Hope For Paws, a rescue group in L.A., saw him. They asked their mom to come and get the dog safety and eventually requested that they contact the rescue group.
Once the crew received the call, rescuers Eldad Hagar, Loreta Frankonyte, and Zainab Zakira headed out to save the dog. They knew how urgent it was for them to get to the dog so they wasted no time. Once on-site, the kids showed them where Tux was, and at that moment, the injured dog lost consciousness and fell on the ground.
Loreta secured Tux with a Lucky Leash and then gently scooped him up. It was a pretty easy rescue, but the rescuers’ work was yet to be over. The rescuers rushed the dog to the emergency animal hospital, and while he immediately received treatment, they weren’t sure he’d make it.
The vets administered some meds to help reduce the swelling in the dog’s brain. They also kept him under close monitoring for the next 24-48 hours. Like the rescuers, they were a bit skeptical, but they remained hopeful.
A few days later, Tux opened his eyes. He was still weak but he managed to eat on his own. He felt better day by day. And before long, he was ready to leave the hospital.
Everybody at the hospital was amazed to see Tux walk out of the hospital. They were so happy for him, and they wished them a good life. And with the help of Foxy and The Hounds Rescue, all great things came to him.
Tux joined his new family soon. He loved how his life changed and he was so happy that he no longer had to face danger in the streets.
