Dogs can get into all sorts of troublesome situations when their owner is not around. It will depend on how well they were trained. However, sometimes even the most docile and well-behaved dogs can have surprising attitudes.
There’s a dog named Darong, who’s very quiet most of the time. He’s a four-year-old poodle but is larger than most toy poodles would be. His owner doesn’t have any problems with him except one.
Darong likes to make a mess when his owner goes away, even for a short while. At first, it was difficult to believe that such a cute dog can make a house look like a battleground. However, a hidden camera recording is enough to prove his guilt.
There’s a pattern to Darong’s chaos. He always climbs up on the table and grabs anything he can put in his mouth. He would scour every corner of the house, looking for anything he could knock down. Nothing is safe when he is left alone.
The owner tolerated such behavior in the past because she could always clean up the mess. However, she’s worried about the possibility of a fire getting started, which might put Darong in danger. There’s no telling when he’s going to bite into an electrical wire or other dangerous things.
The situation makes the owner feel like she has to stay with Darong all the time. She likes the idea of always being with her dog. However, it’s not practical because she and her husband need to go out for work.
One day, an animal behavior expert visited Darong to address his issues. The owner suspected that her dog might have separation anxiety. The expert reviewed the footage to confirm if Darong was indeed misbehaving due to anxiety.
Suddenly, the trainer made an unexpected declaration. He claims that Darong was not suffering from anxiety. Something else was making him behave that way. The expert reveals the answer in the next part of the story found in the link below.
