When Waddy Moses lost his beloved dog, Reo, to cancer two months ago, he was understandably devastated. He knew that he needed another canine to fill the void Reo left, so he headed to the Beaver County Humane Society, an animal shelter in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania.
That was where he met Diego. As soon as Waddy laid eyes on the adorable black and white dog, he immediately realized that he looked a lot similar to his late pup. He decided to adopt him right away and bring him home to his New Castle, Pennsylvania home.
From that day, Waddy and Diego became quite inseparable and would spend hours cuddling on the bed or playing in the yard. The fur dad eventually realized that although he was the one who rescued Diego, the former shelter dog somehow rescued him, too.
You see, he lifted Waddy’s spirits when he was heartbroken from Reo’s passing, and he was there to offer him some comfort every time he needed it. However, it wasn’t until recently when the pup literally rescued his beloved owner but this time, from a house fire!
That fateful day, Waddy was in the bathroom when Diego suddenly rushed into the room and started barking. The fur dad found it quite odd, so he peeked out the door to see what the matter was. There, he discovered his hallway filled his black smoke.
Waddy immediately grabbed Diego by his collar and tried to escape the burning house. Unfortunately, the pup managed to get loose and run into one of the bedrooms on the second floor. The fur dad attempted to rescue him as soon as he got outside, but the smoke had become too thick.
Thankfully, the local firefighters arrived and successfully pulled the canine out of the house. They then gave him oxygen to recover, and after a couple of minutes, the heroic pup was back on his feet. Watch the smart Diego’s story here.
