Mary and Amanda were friends who had very different pets. Mary had a dog named Colt and Amanda had a pig named Carlton. Colt and Carlton met when Mary invited Amanda over to her house, and Amanda asked if she could bring her pig.
Since Mary and Amanda did not know how Colt and Carlton would react when they see each other, they had to introduce them slowly. They first met through a glass door. As soon as Colt saw Carlton, he got so excited that he started jumping on all fours. They became friends instantly when the door was opened.
Carlton seemed to know when it was time to go to Colt’s house. He would grunt as if telling his mom to hurry. As soon as they arrive at Mary’s house, Carlton would go straight to the back door to see Colt.
As soon as Colt heard the car, he would rush to the door to wait for Carlton. He exhibited more excitement when he saw Carlton than when Mary or her husband arrived. He would dash back and forth as if announcing that his friend was there.
Colt and Carlton loved doing things together. They would do zoomies around the yard or play in a pile of dried leaves. Carlton would run and jump in the leaves and Colt would run after him. Then they would sunbathe together.
They would take naps cuddled together. When they scratch Carlton, Colt wanted a scratch, too. When Mary put a bandanna on Colt, Carlton would come over and wanted one as well.
Colt was very patient and considerate with Carlton. He let Carlton graze whenever he felt like it and let him get on the bed first. Carlton felt secure with Colt.
Colt had had arthritis, but whenever he was with Carlton, he was very lively. It warmed Mary’s heart to see him this way.
Their moms love their genuine excitement to see each other. Neither of them got tired of the other’s company. Their unique friendship strengthened their moms’ friendship, too.
