People have different reactions when faced with troubles or obstacles in their path. Some would stop and run away from them. Some would take on the challenge and let it change them. Others would embrace them and allow them to be inspired to do better things.
Today, the whole world is working battling the pandemic in their own ways. Some people have chosen to stay at home to help not spread the virus. Some have become heroes and have taken on the frontlines. But the interesting thing is that it is not only humans who are doing their best to battle the pandemic. In fact, dogs have also been doing their fair share.
Dogtor Loki is one of our modern-day heroes. He is a Rottweiler who has been trained to become a therapy dog and he is owned by Caroline Benzel who is a med student. As a med student, Caroline is currently having her internship at the University of Maryland’s Medical Center.
Caroline’s internship means that she has to be at the hospital for a good part of the day. And because Dogtor Loki is her therapy dog, she decided that it would be great to have the good Dogtor help out. She would take Dogtor Loki with her three times each week to spread joy to the staff and the patients in the hospital.
That is definitely a great idea, Carolina! A dog has surely proven to be one of the best ways to cheer people up!
There have been changes in the rules though and therapy dogs were not allowed in the hospital anymore. But Caroline thought of a great way to continue to spread cheer with the help of Dogtor Loki. She would use FaceTime and have Dogtor Loki join her which definitely made a lot of people in the hospital start smiling at the sight of the adorable dog.
