Homer was a stray dog that sought shelter at a gas station in Bali. Without anybody to care for him, survival was extremely difficult. He barely found enough food to prevent himself from starving, and there was no way he could have avoided being ill.
The dog gradually lost weight. He was extremely thin, but his fur made him appear to be in good form. By the time he lost all of his hair, however, his emaciated body was evident, and it was clear that he had a terrible skin illness.
The dog would not have survived if it had not been rescued by a man named Aaron Hughes. As soon as Aaron saw the puppy, he decided to help it. He gave it food and worked hard to get its trust. As soon as he captured it, he rushed it to the veterinarian for emergency care.
Homer had cancer, and the veterinarian recommended chemotherapy to save his life. However, there was no assurance that he would recover fully. His rescuer and the entire veterinary staff believed he would survive, so they gave him a chance.
Aaron frequently visited the hospital to see the dog. He wished to reassure it that he will remain by its side for the duration of its recovery. Initially, he sat outside the dog’s kennel since he was unsure of how it would respond if he touched it. However, when he did, he was startled to discover that being touched was all it ever desired.
The first time Homer held his tail high and wagged it was after a few weeks of treatment. The realization that at least one individual was willing to do anything for him gave him renewed hope.
Within three months of undergoing chemotherapy, Homer was cured of cancer. Everyone he encountered noticed a glimmer of optimism in his eyes as he began to regrow his white fur. He was once again content, but he was happier when he found his new home.
The new fur mom of Homer knew of his story right at the beginning. She was impressed by his resilience, so she gave him shelter. Under her care, he flourished and became the happiest, healthiest, and fluffiest Great Pyrenees mix possible.
