Rescuers of the nonprofit animal rescue organization called Underdogs Sri Lanka were on their way to feed a pack of stray dogs when something caught their attention. By the side of the road, near a bus stop, was a teeny tiny puppy. It was covered in mange and it looked so scared.
Knowing they had to do something, the rescuers pulled over to save the puppy. They approached it but it ran away. It tried so hard to keep its distance but the rescuers continued to follow it wherever it went.
After a short while, the puppy hesitantly stopped running. It wanted to trust the rescuers but it needed a little time. When the puppy finally realized the rescuers were nice people, she took her chance and completely surrendered.
The puppy, now called Sally, required daily medicated baths and creams. Within a few days, she felt better. And several weeks more into treatment, her skin healed and her fur started to grow back.
In no time, Sally grew up in size and personality. She was healthy, happy, and incredibly beautiful She stole the hearts of her rescue family, most especially Elisabetta, one of the head rescuers of Underdogs Sri Lanka.
Elisabetta spent a lot of time caring for the little rescue puppy and she was the happiest to see how much it has changed. The more time she spent with it, the more she realized how much she loved Sally. She promised not to keep it but it didn’t take very long for her to break that promise.
In the end, Elisabetta decided to let Sally stay for good. She knew for a fact that it was one of the greatest decisions she ever made, and she wasn’t wrong. Since having Sally, she’s happier and more satisfied in her life.
Sally now lives a happy life with her new mom and the rest of her rescue family. She spends quite a lot of her precious time at the beach and plays with her furry siblings almost all day. Surely, she’s living the best life she could possibly have.
