A dog running away from home is one of a dog parent’s worst nightmares. One may think that a pup not coming back home is the worst thing that could happen, but there is a much worse scenario. A pooch escaping the confines of your house means that they will be running across busy streets, dodging oncoming vehicles.
This was a scenario that Steven Chong almost faced when his pet poodle ran away from his home. He posted about his pooch on social media hoping that somebody would recognize him and bring him home. But a week has gone by, and Steven didn’t have any leads.
He thought about giving up the search until he was told about a viral video of a poodle running around a busy street in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Steven checked it out immediately, and when he saw the clip that was uploaded on Instagram, he recognized the pooch, it was Dafi!
Steven shared that his heart broke seeing his fur baby running up and down the busy street with lots of vehicles around him. Luckily, motorcycle riders who saw the poodle teamed up and formed a barrier around the pooch so no vehicle would hit him.
You could say that the concerned motorcycle riders literally went out of their way to save this wandering doggo. One of the rescuers even fell flat on the pavement as he tried to grab Dafi. The rescue took two minutes to complete, and as soon as they got the poodle, they reached out to the authorities.
One of the riders, Savi, took the responsibility of taking Dafi back home to Steven. Finally, after ten days, Steven’s fur baby is coming back home. Hopefully this time, the dog dad will keep a closer eye on Dafi to avoid any repeat incidents. Check out the harrowing rescue in the clip below.
